We have participated the International Conference on Climate-Resilient Dams and Hydropower Infrastructure
The International Conference on Climate-Resilient Dams and Hydropower Infrastructure: Integrating Environmental Sustainability in Planning and Development, held January 29-30, 2026, at SCOPE Convention Centre, New Delhi, was a landmark event organized by CBIP and INCOLD. As a Platinum Sponsor and Technical Contributor, Jomiso Consulting actively participated, engaging deeply with stakeholders on advancing dam safety, climate adaptation, and sustainable hydropower.
The conference provided valuable insights into pressing challenges such as climate impacts on hydrology, GLOF risks, extreme weather events, Himalayan cryosphere changes, and the need for resilient infrastructure design and operations. Discussions emphasized technological innovations, adaptive planning, environmental safeguards, and regulatory compliance to mitigate risks in vulnerable regions like the Himalayas.
Our Technical Reflections and Outcomes
Our participation yielded strong engagement and meaningful progress in showcasing practical solutions for dam safety and resilience:
- Engagement with Audience: We received an overwhelming response from dam owners, industry partners, and government officials. Visitors explored our comprehensive portfolio, including safety inspections, condition assessments, Dam Break Simulations, Emergency Action Plans, Inflow Forecasting System, Decision Support Systems, and advanced instrumentation integrations

- Technical Paper Presentation: A Technical paper on "Framework for Developing an Effective Early Warning System for Dams in Compliance with the Dam Safety Act 2021 in India" has been presented during the conference. The framework focused on key technical aspects: integration of hydro-meteorological and reservoir level sensors, real-time data acquisition via SCADA and IoT networks, advanced forecasting and impact modeling dashboards, and automated multi-channel alerts to operators and authorities. The framework ensures timely warnings for extreme rainfall, inflow surges, and GLOF events, aligning fully with regulatory requirements for surveillance, monitoring, and disaster prevention.

- Demonstration of Seismic and Monitoring Technologies: Demonstrations highlighted rugged, high-precision solutions tailored for high-risk zones. Jomiso has collaborated with ESS Earth Sciences, Australia for providing the Instrumentation exclusively support in India:
- Gecko Digital Recorder: 31-bit ADC digitizer with synchronous 3+1 channels, sample rates up to 4000 sps, dynamic range up to 144 dB, GPS timing accuracy of 30 ns, IP54/IP68 protection, and continuous recording capacity exceeding 1 year (ring buffer at 200 sps). Supports telemetry options (Ethernet, WiFi, 4G) for real-time streaming and remote management.
- Gecko ERI: Affordable structural monitoring instrument with triaxial sensors (MEMS accelerometers and geophones), 32-bit ADC (137 dB dynamic range), over 1 year of data storage on removable SD card, real-time Ethernet streaming with color-coded intensity visualization, alarm relays, and 12+ hours battery backup for uninterrupted operation during outages.
- Earthquake & Vibration Sensors: Compact, low-power geophones (2-14 Hz flat response, high sensitivity) and accelerometers (DC to 1600 Hz, ultra-low noise down to 0.01 µg/√Hz, clip levels ±2g to ±10g), available in surface, borehole, or waterproof casings with extended cables for versatile Himalayan deployments.

These technologies enable robust real-time seismic and vibration monitoring, and much essential for early detection in seismically active in the dams, reservoirs and lakes areas and integration with broader dam safety systems.
Way Forwards
The event reinforced the importance of integrated solutions combining hydrological modeling, GIS-enabled decision support, telemetry networks, and cloud platforms to address climate vulnerabilities. Jomiso's demonstrated capabilities - spanning dam safety, flood management, integrated water resources, GIS/remote sensing, and instrumentation - resonated strongly, leading to promising discussions on collaborations and implementations.
Team Jomiso energized by the connections made and ready to support projects with compliant, innovative tools that enhance resilience and sustainability.
Let's continue building climate-resilient infrastructure together!
